Description

KONNWEI KDIAG Universal Automotive Diagnostic Scanner

Product description

KONNWEI KDIAG is a universal wireless automotive diagnostic scanner designed to check vehicle electronic control systems using a smartphone or tablet. The compact adapter plugs directly into the vehicleโ€™s 16-pin OBD II diagnostic socket and communicates with the mobile device via Bluetooth 5.0.

The free KDIAG application is compatible with Android and iOS devices and turns a smartphone into a practical diagnostic tool. Depending on the vehicle make, model, production year and ECU configuration, the scanner can perform not only standard engine OBD II diagnostics but also access many other vehicle systems.

KDIAG is suitable for vehicle owners who want to identify a possible fault independently, as well as mechanics and workshops that need a portable diagnostic solution.

Full-system diagnostics

KONNWEI KDIAG can communicate with various vehicle electronic control units. The actual number of accessible systems depends on the specific vehicle.

Systems that may be available for diagnostics include:

  • engine management system;
  • automatic or automated transmission;
  • ABS braking system;
  • SRS airbag system;
  • ESP electronic stability system;
  • SAS steering-angle sensor system;
  • EPB electric parking brake;
  • TPMS tyre-pressure monitoring system;
  • body control modules;
  • climate-control system;
  • instrument cluster;
  • central locking and comfort systems;
  • other installed electronic systems.

The scanner can read stored fault codes, display their descriptions, clear the codes after repair and help verify whether the fault returns.

Universal OBD II diagnostics

KDIAG is designed for 12 V vehicles equipped with a 16-pin OBD II connector. Standard OBD II diagnostics are mainly used for checking the engine and emissions-control system.

Available functions may include:

  • reading current fault codes;
  • reading pending fault codes;
  • clearing diagnostic trouble codes;
  • switching off the Check Engine warning after the fault has been repaired;
  • viewing live engine parameters;
  • viewing Freeze Frame data;
  • checking I/M readiness status;
  • viewing oxygen-sensor data;
  • EVAP system testing;
  • viewing on-board monitor test results;
  • reading the VIN and other ECU-supported information.

Supported OBD II protocols

  • SAE J1850 PWM
  • SAE J1850 VPW
  • ISO 9141
  • ISO 14230 / KWP2000
  • ISO 15765 / CAN

Auto-VIN function

The Auto-VIN function allows the application to read the vehicle identification number automatically and, on supported vehicles, identify the make and model. This speeds up diagnostics because there is no need to select the manufacturer, model and production year manually each time.

When automatic identification is not available, the vehicle information can be selected or entered manually.

Live data and graphs

The KDIAG application can display parameters transmitted by vehicle control units in real time. Depending on the vehicle, these may include:

  • engine speed;
  • coolant temperature;
  • intake-air temperature;
  • short-term and long-term fuel trim;
  • oxygen-sensor signals;
  • intake manifold pressure;
  • mass-air-flow readings;
  • accelerator or throttle position;
  • vehicle speed;
  • battery or ECU voltage;
  • other ECU-supported parameters.

Selected parameters can be displayed as graphs and recorded. This makes it easier to analyse intermittent faults, unstable engine operation and abnormal sensor readings.

Diagnostic report

After a full-system scan, the application can automatically generate a vehicle health report. The report contains information about the scanned control modules and detected fault codes. It can be saved on the mobile device or shared with a customer, mechanic or repair workshop.

Available service functions

Depending on the specific vehicle, KDIAG may support:

  • oil-service interval reset;
  • EPB electric parking-brake service;
  • battery registration or adaptation;
  • DPF diesel particulate-filter functions.

Important: service-function availability is not identical for all vehicles. It depends on the make, model, production year, engine version, market specification and individual control unit.

Vehicle compatibility

According to the manufacturer, KDIAG supports universal OBD II diagnostics on a wide range of vehicles, while extended full-system diagnostics are available for more than 40 vehicle brands.

Supported manufacturers may include:

Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Volkswagen, ล koda, SEAT, Bentley, MINI, Rolls-Royce, Maybach, Toyota, Lexus, Honda, Acura, Nissan, Infiniti, Mazda, Suzuki, Subaru, Mitsubishi, Hyundai, Kia, Ford, Lincoln, Mercury, Chevrolet, Buick, Cadillac, GMC, Opel, Renault, Dacia and others.

Before purchase, compatibility should be checked for the exact vehicle make, model, production year and required function.

Application and connection

  1. Plug the KDIAG adapter into the vehicleโ€™s 16-pin OBD II socket.
  2. Switch on the vehicle ignition.
  3. Install the KDIAG application from Google Play or Apple App Store.
  4. Enable Bluetooth on the smartphone or tablet.
  5. Open the application and connect to the diagnostic adapter.
  6. Use automatic VIN identification or select the vehicle manually.
  7. Select standard OBD II diagnostics or full-system diagnostics.

  • Standard engine OBD II compatibility depends on regional OBD requirements and vehicle production year.
  • Support for electric and hybrid vehicles may be limited.
  • Not every system or service function is available on every vehicle.
  • Clearing a fault code does not repair the mechanical or electrical cause of the fault.
  • Before ordering, compatibility should be checked using the exact VIN or vehicle make, model, year and engine.
