TFA Dostmann 30.5055 Digital Thermo-Hygrometer, 4 Climate Modes, MIN/MAX

TFA Dostmann 30.5055 Digital Thermo-Hygrometer, 4 Climate Modes, MIN/MAX

The TFA Dostmann 30.5055 is a compact digital thermo-hygrometer designed to measure indoor air temperature and relative humidity. It features four selectable climate comfort modes for indoor environments, musical instruments, tortoises and humidors. A graphical comfort indicator provides a quick assessment of current conditions, while the MIN/MAX memory function helps monitor temperature and humidity fluctuations.

Key specifications: Temperature −10 to +60 °C • Humidity 10–99% RH • 4 climate modes • MIN/MAX memory • Magnetic mounting

Main Features and Benefits

• Temperature and relative humidity measurement – displays two essential indoor climate parameters on a single device.
• Four climate comfort modes – selectable comfort assessment for indoor climate, musical instruments, tortoises and humidors.
• Graphical comfort indicator – a smiling, neutral or sad face indicates whether the measured conditions correspond to the comfort criteria of the selected mode.
• MIN/MAX memory – stores the highest and lowest recorded temperature and humidity readings since the last reset, making it easier to identify environmental fluctuations.
• Manual MIN/MAX reset – allows the user to start a new monitoring period at any time.
• Compact design – the 55 × 40 × 15 mm housing requires very little space.
• Flexible positioning – two integrated magnets enable attachment to suitable metal surfaces, while a fold-out stand allows convenient tabletop placement.
• Single-battery operation – powered by one AAA battery without requiring a mains connection.

Applications and Intended Use

The TFA Dostmann 30.5055 is intended for indoor temperature and humidity monitoring.

Four selectable climate assessment modes:

Mode	Manufacturer's recommended conditions	Application
Indoor climate	19–25 °C; 40–60% RH	Monitoring living and working environments
Musical instruments	18–24 °C; 45–55% RH	Monitoring storage conditions for wooden musical instruments
Tortoise	25–32 °C; 45–65% RH	Monitoring conditions for European tortoises during their active period
Humidor	18–22 °C; 65–75% RH	Monitoring temperature and humidity in cigar storage environments

These values are the manufacturer's indicative climate comfort conditions, not the instrument's measurement ranges. Requirements for particular musical instruments or animal species may differ.

Compatibility and Limitations

• Standalone device for indoor use; no external controller or measurement system is required.
• The four comfort modes use predefined reference criteria rather than user-programmable temperature or humidity control settings.
• The device measures and displays environmental conditions but does not directly control heating, ventilation or humidification equipment.
• Not intended for outdoor use or direct exposure to moisture.
• The specified humidity measurement accuracy applies only within the 30–85% RH interval.

• Fold-out stand: Enables convenient placement on a flat horizontal surface.

Important Operating and Safety Notes

• For indoor use only. Protect the device from direct moisture exposure, extreme temperatures, strong vibrations and impacts.
• The climate comfort indication is based on indicative reference values. Always verify the requirements of the particular musical instrument, animal species or storage application.
• Clean with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Do not use solvents or abrasive cleaning agents.
• Keep batteries out of children's reach. Do not recharge non-rechargeable batteries, disassemble them or short-circuit their terminals.
• Dispose of exhausted batteries and end-of-life electronic equipment through appropriate collection facilities.
