Description
Unlike potentiometers, rotary encoders can rotate without limits (many wheels). Its output signal does not define the position of the knob, but defines the direction and amplitude of rotation. The position can be deduced by counting pulses. The encoder generates 20 pulses per revolution. Also when the knob is pressed, the encoder button is pressed.
