Datasheet User's manual

UNI-T UT362H Hot Wire Anemometer, 0–30 m/s, Airflow and Temperature Measurement

The UNI-T UT362H is a hot wire anemometer designed to measure air velocity, volumetric airflow and air temperature. Its split-probe design with a slim retractable aluminium-alloy probe rod makes it suitable for measurements inside ventilation ducts, air outlets and other confined locations. The instrument uses a platinum-resistance sensor and provides MAX/MIN, averaging functions, 99-set data storage and automatic airflow calculation based on the entered duct cross-sectional area.

Key specifications: 0–30.0 m/s • –20 to +70 °C • up to 999,900 m³/min / CFM / L/s • 99 data sets • 120 cm probe length

Main advantages

  • Hot-wire measurement with a platinum-resistance sensor – intended for air-velocity measurements, including low air velocities.
  • 0–30.0 m/s air-velocity range – suitable for ventilation, air-conditioning, fan and general airflow measurements.
  • Volumetric airflow calculation – calculates airflow in m³/min, CFM or L/s using the measured air velocity and entered duct dimensions.
  • –20 to +70 °C air-temperature measurement – enables air velocity and airflow temperature to be checked with the same instrument.
  • Circular and rectangular duct settings – enter a circular duct diameter, rectangular duct width and height, or cross-sectional area directly.
  • MAX, MIN, Timing Mean and Multipoint Mean – useful for evaluating fluctuating airflow and obtaining representative average values.
  • 99-set internal memory – measured values can be stored in the instrument for later viewing.
  • Fast / Slow velocity modes – allow the display response to be adapted to faster-changing or less stable airflow.
  • 0.5 s sampling time and 5 s power-on warm-up – provide frequent display updates with a short preparation time.
  • LCD backlight and Data Hold – improve readability and allow the displayed measurement to be frozen when required.

Applications

The UT362H is intended for indoor and outdoor airflow measurements. Typical applications include HVAC/R servicing, ventilation-system inspection, measurements inside air ducts and outlets, fan testing and other tasks requiring air velocity, volumetric airflow or airflow-temperature measurements.

The slim remote probe is especially useful where a conventional vane-anemometer head would be too large to position conveniently.

Compatibility and limitations

  • Volumetric airflow is calculated from the measured air velocity and the duct cross-sectional area entered by the user. UNI-T does not specify a separate airflow-volume accuracy.
  • Circular ducts, rectangular ducts and direct cross-sectional-area entry are supported.
  • Cross-sectional area can be entered in m² or ft².
  • USB, Bluetooth or PC/mobile-app data transfer are not declared for the UT362H in the official product specification.
  • The air-temperature measurement range is –20 to +70 °C, while the specified instrument operating environment is 0 to 40 °C. These are different specifications.
  • UNI-T does not specify a separate minimum detection threshold. The displayed resolution must not be interpreted as a separately guaranteed minimum detectable air velocity.

Construction and controls

The UT362H uses a split-probe design. UNI-T specifies a retractable aluminium-alloy probe rod and a slim sensing head, making it easier to position the sensor inside ventilation ducts and small air outlets.

Measurements are displayed on a backlit LCD. The instrument supports unit selection, Fast/Slow velocity modes, Data Hold, MAX/MIN values, averaging functions and storage of up to 99 measurement sets.

Important operating and safety notes

  • During measurement, point the airflow-direction mark on the probe towards the incoming airflow.
  • Do not use the instrument in steam conditions.
  • Do not squeeze, impact or touch the sensitive sensor; keep it free of dust and oil contamination.
  • Do not pull the connecting wire at the bottom of the probe handle when retracting the rod.
  • Cover the probe when it is not in use.
