FNIRSI HS-02B Temperature-Controlled Soldering Iron, 100 W, 100–450 °C, USB-C PD/QC

The FNIRSI HS-02B is a compact externally powered temperature-controlled soldering iron designed for electronics repair, PCB soldering, small components, wires and connectors. It operates from 9–20 V, supports PD and QC power protocols, provides up to 100 W heating power and offers an adjustable temperature range of 100–450 °C. Its 0.96″ IPS colour display shows the actual and target temperature, supply voltage and heating progress.

Key specifications:
up to 100 W • 100–450 °C • 9–20 V • USB-C • PD/QC • 0.96″ IPS display

Key advantages

  • Up to 100 W heating power – provides useful thermal reserve for both precision electronics work and joints requiring more heat. Actual available power depends on the connected power source.
  • 100–450 °C adjustable temperature – allows the iron to be adapted to different solders, components and soldering tasks.
  • PD and QC power support – compatible power adapters and other suitable power sources can be used.
  • 9–20 V operating range – when using PD, the iron can be configured for 9 V, 12 V, 15 V or 20 V operation; the default setting is 20 V.
  • Three programmable temperature presets – frequently used temperatures can be selected without repeatedly adjusting the setpoint.
  • Adjustable maximum heating power – the maximum power limit can be set from 10 to 100 % to match the capabilities of the power source.
  • Sleep and standby modes – reduce unnecessary heating when the iron is temporarily unused; the iron can be awakened by movement or a button press.
  • Temperature calibration – the operating instructions provide three-point temperature correction using an external temperature measurement.
  • Compact construction – an approximate weight of 61 g and pen-style body make it suitable for portable repair and soldering work.

Applications

The FNIRSI HS-02B is suitable for:

  • soldering electronic components and printed circuit boards;
  • repairing small wires, connectors and contacts;
  • electronics prototyping and DIY projects;
  • fine repair and micro-soldering tasks;
  • modelling and similar technical applications;
  • mobile work where a compact soldering tool is preferred.

This is not a battery-powered soldering iron. An external power source is required during operation.

Compatibility and limitations

  • Power is supplied through a USB-C (Type-C) connector.
  • PD and QC power protocols are supported.
  • With PD power, the iron can be configured for 9 V, 12 V, 15 V or 20 V operation.
  • The maximum 100 W output is only available when the power supply and cable can provide sufficient power.
  • There is no built-in battery.
  • The HS-02B uses HS02B-series soldering tips. FNIRSI lists I, IS and K tip types for this model.
  • HS-02A and HS-02B tips are not interchangeable.
  • FNIRSI recommends using official compatible soldering tips.
  • The manufacturer does not specify a separate temperature-control accuracy or temperature-stability specification; the displayed set temperature should therefore not be treated as a calibrated laboratory measurement.
  • The standard variant selected in the supplied product link does not include the 100 W mains power adapter.

Construction and controls

The soldering iron has a 0.96″ IPS colour display showing the actual tip temperature, target temperature, selected temperature preset, operating voltage and heating progress.

Control is provided by left, right and OK buttons. The user can configure three temperature presets, maximum heating power, operating voltage, temperature adjustment step, sleep and standby periods, display brightness and sound. °C/°F selection and left-/right-handed control modes are also available.

An anti-static interface is provided on the body. FNIRSI does not specify a particular ESD protection class or ESD standard.

Important operating and safety notes

  • The soldering tip may reach 450 °C during operation. Do not touch heated parts.
  • For a new tip, FNIRSI recommends initially heating it to approximately 250 °C and immediately applying solder to reduce oxidation.
  • FNIRSI recommends an approximately 300–380 °C tip temperature for normal use; prolonged operation at very high temperatures can shorten tip life.
  • After use, a small coating of solder should be left on the tip to help prevent oxidation.
  • Avoid highly acidic or chlorine-containing fluxes that may corrode the tip surface.
  • Do not use the product in rain or damp environments.
  • When replacing the tip, observe the incompatibility between HS-02A and HS-02B tips.
