Description
N50 Brushed DC Motor, 1–3.7 V, 27,500 RPM, 26 mm
The N50 is a compact brushed DC motor intended for small models, robotics, electronics and DIY projects. At a 3.7 V supply it reaches approximately 27,500 RPM, making it suitable for lightweight mechanisms where compact dimensions and high rotational speed are required. Its 1 mm shaft can be used with compatible small gears, couplings, wheels and other drive components.
Key specifications:
1–3.7 V DC • 27,500 RPM at 3.7 V • <600 mA no-load current at 3.7 V • up to 4 A • 26 × 12 × 10 mm • Ø1 mm shaft
Key advantages
- High rotational speed – approximately 27,500 RPM at 3.7 V for lightweight high-speed mechanisms.
- Compact dimensions – the 26 × 12 × 10 mm body is suitable for small models, robots and space-limited projects.
- Low-voltage operation – designed for low-voltage DC-powered systems.
- 1 mm shaft – suitable for compatible miniature gears, couplings, wheels, propellers and other drive components.
- Simple brushed design – no electronic commutation system is required.
- Reversible rotation – reversing the supply polarity reverses the direction of rotation.
- Speed control capability – motor speed can be controlled using a suitable PWM controller or brushed DC motor driver.
Applications
The motor is suitable for lightweight, low-power mechanisms such as:
- small RC and custom-built models;
- educational and experimental robots;
- small wheeled mechanisms;
- miniature fans and impellers;
- toys;
- prototypes and DIY electronics;
- other compact high-speed mechanisms.
This is a motor without an integrated gearbox and is therefore mainly intended for applications where high rotational speed is required. Applications requiring high torque at low speed should use a suitable mechanical transmission or gearbox.
Compatibility and limitations
Before installation, check the mechanical dimensions carefully. The motor body measures 26 × 12 × 10 mm, while the shaft has a diameter of 1 mm and a length of 5 mm.
The power supply and motor controller must be selected not only for the operating voltage but also for the increased current that may occur during start-up or under mechanical load.
The motor:
- has no integrated gearbox;
- has no integrated speed controller;
- is not a stepper or brushless motor;
- may provide insufficient torque when connected directly to a heavy mechanical load.

Construction and control
The N50 uses a conventional brushed DC motor design with two electrical terminals. Reversing the polarity reverses the direction of rotation. A PWM controller designed for small brushed DC motors can be used when variable-speed operation is required.
Important operating and safety notes
- Do not exceed the supply conditions suitable for the application, and make sure the power source has sufficient current capability.
- Avoid prolonged operation with a stalled shaft, as current rises significantly and the motor may overheat.
- Install gears, couplings and other components on the 1 mm shaft without applying excessive force that could damage the shaft or bearings.
- Brush wear and electrical interference are inherent characteristics of brushed motors; additional suppression may be required in sensitive electronic circuits.
